We have become aware that Parent Councils and PTAs are raising considerable sums of money to help their schools.  It was also a major topic of conversation at our conference in November.  We are therefore running a survey to find out what is happening across Scotland.

Please complete the survey form and return by 15th February 2010 to SPTC, FREEPOST STA32, EDINBURGH EH2 2BR (no stamp required).

Rally for funding crisis in schools

Parents in Edinburgh have organised a rally for Tuesday 9th February to highlight the funding crisis in schools.  The rally is due to start at Chambers High Street at 4.15 – 4.45pm.  The focus is to “celebrate” children and their work.  A spokesperson said: “The rally is meant for all children, parents, grandparents, high school students and hopefully a good opportunity to make parents and carers voice heard.”

SPTC still supporting parents. For anyone who has concerns, SPTC continues to be a viable and active organisation. For the foreseeable future, we will be providing public liability insurance and support through our membership scheme to all our Parent Council and PTA members.
