Fundraising with Minimum Effort and Maximum Financial Return

Bag2schoolYou can make money for your school with Bag2School who specialise in collecting second-hand clothes in their original condition and selling them to emerging nations.

Bag2School was founded in 2001 and is a business, not a charity.  However most of their turnover is paid to schools as part of their clothes re-use scheme.  They collect quality second-hand quality clothing, as well as bedding, curtains, soft toys, shoes, belts and handbags.  These items are all then all sold on to retailers in Eastern Europe.

Bag2School will provide you with blue plastic bags, free of charge which you will be asked to distribute to all pupils and families to fill with the above items.  Bag2School will then arrange a mutually agreed time for their van to come to your school and make the collection – this means that there are no storage problems!  The Bag2School driver will then load the bags directly onto the van and will take them away to be weighted – you should get a cheque within 28 days.

You can get £200 - £300 per tonne for the bags which work out at 20-30 pence per kilo.

It is a good idea to arrange collections in the summer and winter terms although bigger schools may want more frequent visits.
