No rest for anyone at the SPTC Conference!
On Saturday 13th November we held our 56th Annual Conference and AGM at Moray House in Edinburgh. The conference title was “Kids Behaving Badly” and the aim of the day was to look at whether indiscipline and bad behaviour is really as bad as some would have us believe.
Our two speakers, David Cameron and Alan Mclean were a fantastic “double act” and kept the delegates on their toes through their interactive presentations.
During the day, delegates – parents, teachers, local authority representatives and student teachers – were asked to contribute suggestions and comments for a report which will be presented to relevant organisations and people interested in education. Hopefully this will include MSPs and the Scottish Executive.
A full conference report is being compiled and will be included in the January edition of “Backchat”. Keep an eye on the website for more.
Here are some comments from the event:
“Very interesting and informative – thoroughly engaging!!”
“I found the conference reassuring and helpful as behaviour is something that does worry me and it has calmed me to know that there are strategies that help the children develop learning.”
“Good venue. V Good lunch. Speakers both very positive, informative, enjoyable, thought-provoking and motivating. 10/10”
