The HMIe's report, "A Climate for learning: A Review of the Implementation of the Better Behaviour - Better Learning Report" indicates that the management and standards of behaviour was very good in around 50% of secondary schools and in 70% of primary schools inspected, and at least good in most of the rest. However, in just over 8% of secondary schools and 3% of primary schools there were important weaknesses in behaviour and discipline. Parental views of schools' handling of discipline were generally very positive.

The report is available on the Inspectorate website at www.hmie.gov.uk

SPTC Development Manager, Judith Gillespie made the following comment in the Edinburgh Evening News on March 2nd: "... teachers know what to do to tackle bad behaviour.
