NEW PARENT COUNCIL? YOU CAN TRANSFER YOUR EXISTING SPTC MEMBERSHIP/INSURANCE!!

Parent Councils come into being in August 2007 and we are aware that in some schools there is an intention that all current School Board and PTA activities will be operated through the new single body. However, the new Parent Councils will still need public liability insurance and the good news is that you will be able to transfer the cover you currently have for liability insurance under your existing PTA membership (at no extra cost) to the new Parent Councils should you decide to merge into it in August. All that you will have to do is to let us know that you are winding up the PTA/PA and forming a Parent Council. We will do the rest. If a PTA and Parent Council operate separately within the same school, each will need its own public liability insurance.
