Schools to get same half-day in shake-up

The Edinburgh Evening News announced on Saturday 30th October that thousands of schoolchildren in the capital are set to have their half-day moved from Wednesdays to Friday afternoons. This move is to allow schools to work more closely together and bring benefits to parents and teachers.
Eleanor Coner, SPTC Information Officer said: "I think this is a good idea all round. I understand some people might not be happy because it will disrupt their routine, but having consistency is much better than not knowing who is off and who isn't. I only wish we could see the same thing brought in for all holidays across Scotland."
