The accounts for the year to 31 August 2007 set out above are a summary of information extracted from the full statutory financial statements of the Council.

These summarised accounts may not contain sufficient information to allow for a full understanding of the financial affairs of the Council. For further information the full financial statements with the report of the Directors and the Accountants’ report should be consulted. These are available on request from the office of the Council at 53 George Street, Edinburgh EH2 2HT.

Accountants’ Statement
To the Members of Scottish Parent Teacher Council

In our opinion the summarised accounts of Scottish Parent Teacher Council, set out on the two previous pages, are consistent with the full financial statements prepared under Section 226 of the Companies Act 1985 for the year ended 31 August 2007.

The responsibilities of the directors for preparing the annual report and financial statements are set out in full in those financial statements. Our work was conducted in accordance with the Statement of Standards for Reporting Accountants and the text of our unqualified opinion on the financial statements is as follows:

“In our opinion:

(a) the financial statements are in agreement with the accounting records kept by the company under section 221 of the Companies Act 1985;

(b) having regard only to, and on the basis of, the information contained in those accounting records:

(i) the financial statements have been drawn up in a manner consistent with the accounting requirements specified in section 249C(6) of the Act; and

(ii) the company satisfied the conditions for exemption from an audit of the financial statements for the period specified in section 249A(4) of the Act and did not, at any time within that period, fall within any of the categories of companies not entitled to the exemption specified in section 249B(1).”
